Total Commander 是一套极佳的文件管理员，也许是世界上最好的文件管理工具,内含各种压缩与解压缩，类似NC般非常好用的工具，对于文件与路径的寻找，除一般的复制、删除、搬移、编辑等功能外，还有FTP功能(具有续传、背景传输)与解决了中文乱码问题，"专题"再也不会变成"彩题"、新增文件分割、文件合并、文件编码、文件解码(MIME，UUE，XXE)及新的操作介面(浮动工具列)。真是一套相当强悍可完全取代文件总管的工具程序。
这套软件就是原来非常出名的Windows Commander了!现在程序更名为Total Commander!新版本多了很多功能选项，非常值得升级！如支持Lister RTF 文件查看；增强了文件复制、移动选项；可以创建文件描述列表文件；能够直接打开还在下载中的ZIP 压缩文件；新版还可直接访问 PocketPC，或者其他系统设备等。
